Flame of Recca should have been followed by a more engaging sequel because, the ending where Kurei ambushed his father was vert lackluster, and the guys behind the classic, tournament-based storyline should answer the questions that shrouded Kurie's intentions: Did the guy had an epiphany of being used all the time by his father or, does his hatred for Recca remains intense, if not, more than what his anger could explain. Flame of Recca was a good anime that follows half of Ghost Fighter's main story that pits four spirit hunters into a tournament organized by corrupt nobles and sycophants.
Many reviews and essays praise Flame of Recca for its "near unique" presentation of giving characters the break they need during arcs. This gave the fans something to watch out for and, Recca wasn't the only one hogging the spotlight and the air time, his comrades, equipped with mystical artifacts with them, grew more powerful each encounter while encapsulating various forms of moral resolve that gave each battle more explosive than the other.
Sure, the anime borrowed elements which I think shoul've been omitted from the start, Flame of Recca should at least, deserve a continuation that will propel the agenda and Kurei and fuel the conflict once again.
