I'm not familiar with the world of Bleach like you fans out there. This article is an introduction to the world of Bleach for those anime fans who haven't tried reading this rocking manga yet.

Are you a fan of Yuyu Hakusho? Hunter x Hunter? Or Death Note? Then Bleach manga is for you! I can't believe I didn't discover this great manga immediately when I was searching for mangas to read.

Ichigo Kurosaki is the main character of Bleach manga. He is a not so normal high school student. Why did I say not so normal? It's because Ichigo can see ghosts. Big deal, you say, but Ichigo is not just some spiritual psychic wannabe who can just see ghosts. He can talk to them whenever he wants to. And some ghosts occasionally follow him home to hang out with his family. By the way, most of his family can see ghosts. Except for his father, that is. His twin sisters Yuzu and Karin can also sense ghosts. But Karin is a bit more powerful than Yuzu. Yuzu can only sense spirits and ghosts, Karin on the other hand, can see faint outlines of the ghosts.

One fateful night, Ichigo's life takes a turn when he saw a black butterfly on his room, and out comes a shinigami (death god) named Rukia Kuchiki. He was surprised at her sudden appearance, so he kicked her. Meanwhile, Rukia was also surprised that a human can see her. She surmised that it's because Ichigo's powers are in tune with the spirit world.

In the middle of their conversation, a Hollow begins to attack Ichigo's home. Hollows are former spirits who are corrupted. They hunt and eat other spirits and even shinigamis. The main tasks of a shinigami is to perform Soul Burials on spirits before they become Hollows and purify the sins of Hollows to make them whole again.

Yuzu and Karin were both injured. Rukia realizes that the Hollow followed the trail of Ichigo's spiritual power. In the confusion of the fight, Ichigo tried to defend his family but failed miserably. Rukia was forced to put herself in between Ichigo and the Hollow and was injured with the process.

Rukia was forced to make a split second decision. She informed Ichigo that to save his family she can transfer some of her shinigami powers to him, just enough to defeat a Hollow. In order for her to transfer her powers, she must stab Ichigo on the chest before the Hollow's next attack.

Without thinking twice, Ichigo agrees, and he let himself be stabbed. Due to ichigo's massive spiritual energy, he accidentally absorbed all of Rukia's powers. He instantly defeated the Hollow and thus saved Rukia's and his family's life.

Now, with all her powers on temporary loan, Rukia has no idea on how to get them back. But she still have some duties to perform, so she and Ichigo made a pact for him to continue her duties as shinigami while she contemplates her situation.

They both didn't realize that their encounter with Hollows is the first of many to come.
